My Background
My interest in massage deepened when I signed up for my first Chicago marathon and incorporated massage sessions as a regular component of training. It helped to soothe my first-timer nerves, aided my recovery from the wear and tear of training, and gave me a reward to anticipate as I conquered new distances and challenges. Six months later, I landed in massage school.
From that point forward, I found an easy connection with athletes, and my massage career branched out from there. My clients span from first time 5k participants all the way to seasoned Ironman competitors. Each fall, I work with the Northwestern University Athletic Department as part of the football team’s post-game recovery program and I occasionally work with other NU teams as well. I’ve traveled to Tucson to provide onsite massage for high-level triathletes training with Jennifer Harrison Coaching. This fall, I was honored to be invited to join the medical team for the Chicago stop of Kellogg’s Gymnastics Tour of Champions as Massage Therapist for the Olympians.
Beyond the world of sports, I've come to realize the power of positive touch and the difference massage can make in people's lives. There’s magic in the dancing of a baby during a prenatal massage, or watching someone gripped with anxiety uncurl their fists and let go. I’m privileged to be able to bring comfort and soothing to someone in the midst of the emotionally and physically draining process of cancer diagnosis and treatment. Any day in which I can elevate the calm in someone else’s life is a good day.
One of the things I love about massage is that it enhances my pursuit of happiness, peace and calm both at work and at home, and it gives me the opportunity to share these elements with others on a daily basis. It also hones an oft-overlooked quality in our high-stress, fast-paced digital world: focus. I can multitask with the best of them, but in the massage room, all of the texts and emails and to-do lists fall away. All that remains is me, listening to your body, and doing my part to facilitate its innate desire to heal and thrive.

My Philosophy
Practice radical self-acceptance and unconditional positive regard.
This is the philosophy that I strive to live by, inside the massage room and beyond. Radical self-acceptance means extending the same kindness inward as you would to your dearest friend, right now, as is, as opposed to withholding it until various improvements have been made. Unconditional positive regard means accepting others as they are, and seeing the best in them. The massage room is a warm and accepting place, free of negativity and judgment.
In massage therapy, communication is key. Many people hesitate or hold back when they experience something in a session that they don't understand or enjoy, assuming the therapist knows best. You are the expert on your own body because only you know exactly how you feel. My job is to let you know what to expect and to be open to any questions or concerns you might have. The best way to create the optimal massage session is for you to tell me if there's any way I can make you feel more comfortable.
Our bodies tell us what they need, but we often forget to listen, or maybe we don't even know how. Regular massage increases body awareness, which makes it easier to interpret the body's signals and in turn improves general wellness.
Ultimately, my goal is to meet you where you are and help to elevate you so you can live your best possible life.
